State Level Quiz Competition on Legal Awareness : KELSA in association with Fiat Justicia, Ernakulam  conducted a State Level Quiz Competition on Legal Awareness for Higher Secondary Schools on 12th January 2012 at Bar Council Hall Ernakulam.  Teams from all the districts participated in the programme. Adv. P.S. Easwaran, Adv. Sreelal Warrier and Adv. Bindu Sreekumar were the panel of Judges.  St. Joseph Central School, Mundakkayam won the Ist prize and Chandan Brothers H.S.S. Vallikkunnu, Malappuram were the runners up.  Cash prize of Rs.6000/- and Rs. 4000/- were awarded to the teams respectively.  An ever rolling trophy was also given to the St. Joseph Central School. Hon'ble Mr. Justice C.N. Ramachandran Nair, Judge, High Court of Kerala & Executive Chairman, KELSA distributed the prizes.  Sri. P. Mohanadas, Member Secretary, KELSA, Adv. Thampan Thomas and Adv. M.L. George were among the dignitaries present. 

Sensitization programme on Juvenile Jurisprudence : KELSA in association with District Legal Services Authority, Ernakulam   conducted a sensitization programme on Juvenile Jurisprudence at High Court Auditorium on 7th January 2012. The programme was inaugurated by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Altamas Kabir, Judge, Supreme Court of India & Executive Chairman, NALSA in the meeting presided over by  Hon'ble Mrs. Justice Manjula Chellur, Acting Chief Justice, High Court of Kerala & Patron-in-Chief, KELSA.  Hon'ble Mr. Justice Cyriac Joseph, Judge, Supreme Court of India rendered the key note address.  Hon'ble Mr. Justice C.N. Ramachandran Nair, Judge, High Court of Kerala & Executive Chairman, KELSA rendered the special address.  Sri. B. Kemal Pasha, District Judge & Chairman, DLSA, Ernakulam, Sri. B. Gopakumar, President, Kerala High Court Advocates Association, Sri. K.P. Dandapani, Advocate General, Kerala , Sri. U. Sarathchandran, Member Secretary, NALSA and Sri. P. Mohanadas, Member Secretary, KELSA spoke on the ocassion. Smt. Nina Nayak, Chairperson, Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Smt. Geetanjali Goel, Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board, New Delhi, Smt. Bharati Ali, HAQ Center for Child Rights, New Delhi, Sri. S.D. Singh, Child Psychiatrist, Sri. Jacob Punnoose IPS, Director General of Police, Kerala, Dr. Shaibya Saldanha, Child Protection Specialist, Karnataka will led the academic session.
